Specifications
My car is a 1998 Tiger Super Six, bought pre-built from Tiger. The car was actually one of 4 built by Oxford Brookes University as part of their mechanical engineering course. Tiger sold complete kits to the University, who then constructed them, and sold them back to Tiger, who safety-checked the cars before selling them on.
In its original specification, the car was powered by a completely standard 2.0 litre SOHC Ford engine, running "open" twin 40 dellorto sidedraft carbs, with a standard Type 9 gearbox, and an open 3.89:1 diff.
After joining my local Tiger Owners club (SATOC), it became clear to me that the specification of my car was decidedly weedy. Over the course of the next few years, things got modified, and enhanced. After what has amounted to basically a ground up rebuild with a lot of help from my friends (thanks Mssrs Wain, McMinn and Martin!), the specification currently looks as follows:
